Green & Black’s produces exquisite chocolate for which it only uses high quality, ethically sourced organic ingredients. The key ingredient is Trinitario cocoa sourced in Belize and the Dominican Republic. When Craig Sams and his wife Jo Fairly started in London’s Portobello Road in 1991, they would have never imagined the success, but Green & Black’s is conquering one chocolate-loving nation after another.

The six rice blends from Berliner start-up Lotao are not only culinary specialities, but they also communicate the cultural background story, inspired by Chinese dietetics with its five elements. Matching every rice blend, Lotao offers a unique Perfectioner (mix of spices) or Elixir (enrichment with fruits and spice plants based on rice oil) that fully develop the unique flavour and aroma of the rice.

Look lovely, smile beautifully, stay open-minded and keep it slowmo. Berlin-based eco fashion label slowmo presents collections for both women and men. A clear-cut style with exceptional cuts that express love for the detail, high-quality materials and a diligent manufacture make for slowmo’s style. Selected pieces mainly for „him“ are now available in the ecoShowroom.
Slowmo fashion has a comfy feeling about it. This phenomenon starts early in the production chain. The family business founded in 2006 by the siblings Felicia and Melchior Moss in Berlin stands for sustainability and quality. The pieces are 100% organic and fair trade and are produced without child labour, exploitation, genetic engineering or environmental pollution. Everything is produced in Germany. Slowmo focuses on short routes – the local production in Berlin allows for minimal transport distances as well as close collaboration with sewers. The prints are manual screen prints, made in Berlin. The knitwear is produced in traditional manufactories in Thuringia. Here, too, transport routes are being cut down. The slowmo collection is mainly made from organic cotton, the sheepwool used comes from ecologically bred merino sheep. The designs combine urban atmosphere with elements from nature. The close collaboration and permanent advancement are of high importance for the siblings and crucial to establishing an integrated sustainable company. The slowmo products are GOTS certified and carry the Nature Textile label as well as the Durch label Skal. The sustainable approach is not just a trend phenomenon but forms an obligation to slowmo. True to the motto „Organic is not just a fashion, it’s a commitment“, the respectful interaction with human and nature builds the basis for slowmo’s work.

A selection of the latest collection’s pieces as well as the biyearly print magazine slowmag are now available in the ecoShowroom in Berlin.

KeepCup
ecoShowroom

Bright typography for home and office
Simply disposing of beautiful old neon signs? Character had a much better idea: The small Helsinki-based enterprise deconstructs the letterings and puts them back on the market in the form of single letters, thus giving them a second life. Recycling at its best since everyone involved in the process profits from the second life cycle of the letters. The beautiful individual items which have been refurbished with state-of-the-art technology (LEDs) are versatile. Whether used as mood light, decorative garden object, night light for kids or sculpture at an office reception – the robust, industrial design catches the eye everywhere.

Lace carpets with a good conscience
Hooked Design is a small manufactury that produces wonderful fragile-looking yet sturdy carpets. The fancy pieces are inspired by the famous window of the cathedral Notre Dame de Paris. The carpets are home-made in a traditional way in Turku out of left-over materials from the Finnish and European textile industry. For every carpet sold, one euro is donated to fight child labor. The enterprise that was established by a business student and a designer in 2009 was awarded Best Young Finnish Enterprise in 2010.

Less with higher quality
Nurmi is a sustainable clothing label that wants to bring back the times when both the quality and the design of clothes were meant to last. Anniina Nurmi, who stands behind the label, wants to produce less with higher quality and to do this ethically and ecologically. All garments are made in Finland from natural materials such as organic cotton or E-Leather®. Special emphasis lays on the transparent supply chain in which every step is checked very strictly on ethical and ecological compatability. „Cherish forever“ is the claim of the label, and you will definitely cherish the beautiful tops, dresses and scarves for a very long time!

Bohemian Chic
Music and films are the two main sources of inspiration for indie fashion label with love Sanna Hopiavuori. The dresses, bags and pieces of jewellery range between girlish romance and rock style and lend a bohemian chic to their wearer. Designer Sanna Hopiavuori prefers to use shades of grey and black for her hand-crafted pieces. Flea markets are her preferred source for vintage leather, the main material used alongside organic cotton and recycling materials such as PET. The designer knits, crochets and sews herself. The melancholic beauty of the fall/winter collection 2011/12 „they found mary bellows cuffed to the bed“ is inspired by a Nick Cave album about passion crimes.

Surprising styles inspired by nature and urban life
Minna Kaartinen founded her eco fashion label Vietto in 2007. The pieces, whether women’s clothing, accessoires or jewellery, surprise with a fresh and unusual look and can be worn in different ways. The items are made of recycled material, organic cotton and left-overs from the textile industry. With many garments, bamboo yarn is used. All material is bough from Finnish producers, all garments are 100% ethically made in Finland. The designer is inspired by pop culture and urban life but also by nature. She does not believe in collection cycles but rather views her work as a continuous process in which designs develop from one season to another.

ANSOHO
ecoShowroom

Since 2006, ANSOHO designs knitwear made of 100% organic merino wool and organic cotton. Pure, feminine, casual and sophisticated. The designer Anna Sophie Howoldt stands for simple, yet luxurious fashion. Thrift and luxury is what the ecoShowroom stands for, too, thus presents the ladies’ line of the Berlin label.
The classy feel of the merino quality has a decisive influence on ANSOHO designs. Anna Sophie Howoldt’s passion for dance and yoga also plays a great role in her work. Her models, based on architectural cuts, are wearable, comfortable and flowing. At the same time, the simplicity and functionality of the pieces underline the elegance and delicateness so typical for this label. The product range includes a ladies line as well as some models for men. The primary focus is on cardigans, pullovers, dresses and skirts. Multifunctional is what encompasses this designer’s sustainable concept and approach to design. For example, ”Fledermauspullover“ (“Bat Pullover“), whose wide waist can also be worn as a turtleneck. Anna Sophie Howoldt is positive about the fact that a respectful interaction with nature and resources is indispensable for good design. For the designer, this builds the basis of her approach to any creative process. Thus, ANSOHO designs are timeless, self-confident favourites with changeable character. The complete collection is produced in Germany. The fall/winter collection 2011/2012 emphasizes the powerful colour raspberry which forms an outstanding contrast to the other, subtle colours black, grey and caramel. ANSOHO also integrates preferred cuts from previous collections in a basic line.

Lifestyle in tubes using only the purest, highest-quality ingredients, free from tensides, demeter-certified, composed in the tradition of the great master perfumers. This was the bold vision of young soap manufacturer “San Floriano“ before introducing demeter luxury products in the somewhat unfashionable organic cosmetics market. Mission accomplished: the biodynamic content and stylish design of the tubes bring together tradition, aesthetics and entrepreneurial spirit in one product.
Currently, San Floriano offers two exceptional products, unique in quality and design. Tube-soaps in four different fragrances made from demeter olive oil and demeter cocoa butter. The 100% recyclable aluminium tubes are not only a visual highlight but also make the use of preservatives unnecessary. The tubes have another positive side effect as they decelerate hand-washing, turning it into a deeply purifying, aromatic ritual – and even a practical one when travelling. San Floriano massage candles are made from demeter olive oil and demeter beeswax enriched with lavender, mint, orange or calendula. After four minutes of burning the wax composition can be used as a rich massage oil, warming and relaxing the entire body. San Floriano is a brand of Jungebad KG, a long-established, yet highly innovative, family-owned company from Bad Boll, Baden Württemberg. The company became known for Jungebad®, a therapeutic oil bath used in the treatment of chronic diseases or simply for relaxing. In 2010 San Floriano, too, started using essential oils for their beneficial properties, thus continuing the company tradition of loving attention for the human body.

Ingredients from nature, selected herbs, our very own treatment concept and a core idea that shapes our special skin care approach and our cosmetic products: the skin possesses its own powers of nurture and regeneration and skin care products should support these functions. This has been Dr.Hauschka’s philosophy since 1935. You can now discover the latest Dr.Hauschka products and seasonal highlights at Eco Showroom.
Dr.Hauschka Skin Care products strengthen the skin’s own healthy processes and give protection against external influences. To achieve this, Dr. Hauschka began cultivating medicinal herbs in the biodynamic garden of Wala Heilmittel, the company he set up in 1935. Today, all Dr.Hauschka products are BDIH certified and what is even more, Dr.Hauschka Skin Care is a co-founder of the new, stricter NaTrue standard for organic and natural cosmetics. The positive effects of Dr.Hauschka products are not limited to the company’s face, body and hair care. Dr.Hauschka Decorative Cosmetics, introduced in 1999, too, are made from botanicals and natural minerals and not only enhance your beauty —they nurture your skin, helping you make it healthy, fresh and beautiful. Dr.Hauschka Estheticians collaborated closely with artists to create the colours for the new range: The shades take on a life of their own and unfold different nuances on every skin. Artists and designers also regularly become involved in exclusive fashion collaborations: Dr.Hauschka works with young fashion designers to develop accessories that bring together the worlds of beauty and fashion.

VILDE SVANER

VILDE SVANER has designed elegant, yet functional outfits for men and women since 2008 – all made from fair-trade, organic materials. Aesthetically demanding eco fashion “made in Germany” – from the zipper and the fabrics down to the last stitch. The label creates timeless, non-seasonal designs that are easy to combine. And thus adds yet another meaning to sustainability along the way. Come and find out more about our favourite pieces at eco Showroom.
VILDE SVANER is not about basics but about low-key extravagance made from organic cotton and recycled shirts. The focus is on design and construction which can be seen as much in the existing collection as in the new designs, e.g. the short denim jacket or the short-sleeved satin blazer. New forms and silhouettes complement and play with existing ones. Organic jersey, denim, satin and batiste sourced from a local fabric supplier and largely dyed by the designers themselves continue to be the materials of choice. The dyes comply at least with German ÖKO-Tex-Standard 100, mostly also with GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard). In addition, recycled shirts are made into light shirt dresses that can be found alongside the tulip-shaped Tulpe dress and the tight-fitting Pencil dress at eco Showroom.

Eco-friendly products that meet the highest functional requirements – or in other words: "the hottest ski jackets in the world"! PYUA is the first sportswear brand that uses recyclable materials for its functional outfits and picks up the garment from the client once its lifecycle is over – to reintroduce it back into the production process. Sustainability is at the basis of the entire value chain – and this also involves manufacturing all PYUA products in Europe. True to the motto Ecorrect Freeriding PYUA is now also available at eco Showroom.
PYUA was awarded the Eco Responsibility Award by ISPO for its Climate Series in recognition for its commitment to environmental protection, product sustainability as well as its pioneering role in the field of Eco Responsibility. The inside material used for the jackets and pants stems from a closed recycling system that brings down energy consumption and CO2 emissions to one fifth compared to production of polyester raw-materials from crude oil. And what is more – besides outstanding skin compatibility, full recyclability and recovery of the products, PYUA also stands out for its sustainable corporate culture and marketing strategy. When it comes to aesthetics, PYUA sportswear wins hands down, too. The colour range takes up natural shades: warm earth tones contrasted with fluorescent shades of crocus bulbs. Functionality is given utmost priority - whether it is sweat transport, superior temperature regulation or weather protection. Consequently, PYUA insists on working with partners for whom sustainability is more than merely a marketing strategy and who give real content to the idea. All products are made in Europe. Upcycling is the new term used to merge design and recycling. FAHRER excels in this discipline. The company works exclusively with sheltered workshops for handicapped people to manufacture “Individual Cycling Accessories“ for urban cyclists from old truck tarpaulins, boat covers or giant posters - including individual leg bands, wallets, bags and iphone holders. Come and check out FAHRER products at eco Showroom!
It all started with the BAND. Architect Joachim Leffler devised, designed and produced a functional, essentially cool leg BAND purely out-of self-interest. Other urban accessories that make a cyclist’s life easier followed. KOMPLIZE and SCHLINGEL for instance, sturdy bags in two different sizes that can be attached to the bike frame or carried with a hand-loop when off-road. The latest highlight is iphone holder SPITZEL that can easily be positioned onto the bar or stem. Mounting and taking off is done in seconds. The iphone itself travels in a shock-absorbing protective cover. Of course, SPITZEL is not limited to bicycles – it can be fixed onto any metal bar, whether pram, supermarket trolley, golf bag or fishing rod. Have your digital shopping list, mailbox or apps at hand when out in the park or fishing in the lake. Besides his authentic, joyful attitude to life Joachim Leffler cares a great deal about working with disadvantaged people. The limitations are an essential part of the design. And so is the handwork.

Traditionally used as food, in the textile industry, for shipbuilding and by the pharmaceutical industry, the commercial success of hemp food products has grown considerably in recent years. Hemp contains a wealth of nutrients that benefit our vitality and well-being – and all parts of the hemp plant are useful. So it’s not surprising that scientists see a great future for hemp food products and that the EU has promoted hemp cultivation for some years now. And it’s not surprising either that Hanf & Natur products will be available at eco Showroom from the very first hour.
Hemp – the new superfood? Rich in essential fatty acids, gamma-linolenic acid, essential amino acids, minerals, vitamins and fibres, hemp is a real power plant. Most parts, from the flowers, leaves, fibres to the seeds are used for a wide variety of purposes. The plant’s seeds, oil, flour, leaves and essential oil form the basis of food products like pasta, cereals, oil, teas and sweets. At eco Showroom we offer a selection of delicious – and healthy – hemp food products like sweet cinnamon, chocolate or savoury, sweet & hot hemp seeds, hemp cookies, spaghetti and hemp oil – all organic of course. A healthy temptation for your taste buds: thanks to their high nutritional value hemp food products boost your metabolism and are less likely to be stored on the hips. Indulgence without regret! Another advantage for people suffering from allergies: hemp is gluten-free.

The bank and its customers share a common goal: work towards a balance between people, the environment and the economy. Some already call them the new “it“ bags. Made from naturally tanned leather, KSIA bags and accessories leave a lasting impression – at the first touch. The leather feels soft and smooth, the design details are sophisticated and feminine. At eco Showroom the focus is mostly on the small accessories that make life a little more special.
KSIA stands for environmentally and socially sustainable production practices, highest quality materials and workmanship and a unique fashion product. The collection is inspired by Germany’s pioneering post-war architecture of the 1950s and 1960s. This is by no means a coincidence: the designer behind the label, Kasia Ehrhardt, studied architecture and fashion design around the world. And yet she decided to return to Berlin to continue the family tradition. Her great-grandfather had already manufactured leather handbags and suitcases near Leipzig about 100 years ago. The present KSIA collection includes classical shopping bags and cases that perfectly complement the handbags. All leather accessories are manufactured by hand and are made from the finest naturally tanned cowhide nappa leather that stands out for its extreme softness and durability. The leather is tanned in the Allgäu region, Southern Germany, by ecopell, a company that manufactures only naturally tanned leathers and thereby minimises the negative effects on the environment generally associated with leather manufacturing. Its high standards for eco-friendly tanning, wastewater treatment and disposal of used leather are in keeping with KSIA’s motto: Looking Good while doing Good.

In Rianne de Witte's label Art Deco shapes meet with Eastern European folklore. The Dutch designer is one of the eco fashion field's pioneers and is represented by 25 spots across Europe. As of now the eco Showroom is the label's new home and therefore aswell its first sales address in Germany.
When Rianne de Witte started her label in 1996 she was among the pioneers of the eco fashion sector. Since 2005, she is a member of MADE-By –the blue button not only stands for her commitment towards fair trade, sustainably produced materials and people-friendly manufacturing processes but also certifies that the label undergoes counselling and testing through MADE-By. In addition, the designer, born in 1967, likes to share her personal experience. She worked in co-operation with different clients, e.g. the New York Hotel in Rotterdam, and designed exclusive fashion lines for a number of Dutch celebrities. Her current autumn/winter collection “Sophisticated Moths” illustrates de Witte’s understanding of a minimal, delicate and feminine, yet unconventional and self-confident design language. The designs are timeless classics, albeit with a modern cut and versatile in style. Art Deco meets eastern European folklore. The moth as the mythical insect of the night features in some of the designs, creating a playfully-bizarre atmosphere. The dresses, trousers, coats and tops in grey, warm red, petrol blue and natural camel shades are made from organic cotton and wool combined with cashmere and alpaca. In 2007 Rianne de Witte opened her first flagship store in Breda, the Netherlands. The Label already has 25 sellingpoints among Europe and find now a new home in Berlin at the eco Showroom. At the same time it’s the first address in Germany.

For Kim Steeb, yoga teacher and mother of two children, Reflection is a way to turn her beliefs and lifestyle into a personal brand: “It’s clear decisions and deep-rooted values that make us happy: the people with whom we live, what we eat, what we buy or the way we dress. These values mirror who we are – they reflect our lives. Reflection is intended for people who love life, who value functionality and beauty and live a modern yet nature-conscious life.”
